Today I would like to present to you one of the most recognized luxury brands.
Gucci: a company that gained early success by providing leather and canvas items. The simplistic styling that Guccio Gucci provided allowed him to set up his first shop in Florence, Italy in 1921. The designer would become more prominent by combining leather goods with exquisite craftsmanship. The brand would expand and flourish with the addition of his three sons. Out of the 3, Aldo Gucci made the most important contribution to Gucci. From 1921 up until 1933, the brand was operating without a logo. Aldo would mesh his father's initials to form the famous GG logo. Since then the brand has not looked back and has given us a wealth of inventory for seasons.
Nowadays Gucci is in a new direction under the leadership of Alessandro Michele. The classic monogram print is still among most of its modern pieces. The luxury fashion house has added exotic animals to its everyday pieces which has brought much success, but also controversy to the label. Due to alleged copyright issues with images used with the clothing and accessories. It has made peers question the creativity, but this has not stopped the buyer. Recently the brand paid homage to Dapper Dan (Daniel Day) with the previous fall line by accident. To avoid problems, Gucci has made a partnership with Dapper, taking it a step further by enabling him with his own boutique right in Harlem. This boutique can be accessed via appointment only.
More could be said about Dapper's influence has allowed the brand to expand with pop and urban culture, but this would drag out this post. The fall and winter would be approaching and some of the newest pieces are available. If you're wanting to check out the 2018 fall and winter lookbook, please click here. Gucci will continue to be one of the biggest designers in the game. Some would say owning clothing from this
prestige wardrobe would be considered a status of wealth.
